All cold storage refrigerated warehouses have ammonia-based systems which are currently considered to be more environmentally-friendly.

We ensure all chemical used for cleaning or other works are handled and stored correctly.

It is our company policy that environmentally friendly materials are to be utilised when available.

Sustainable Business Action Group

A committee consisting of employees who are dedicated to making Montague a sustainable and environmentally responsible company has recently been formed. Chaired by Leigh Curran, Fresh Operations Manager, the SBAG meets every month to discuss ways that we can reduce energy consumption as a business and create awareness amongst our employees. SBAG maintains a strong site level focus with frequent reports on site progress from volunteers who are passionate about sustainability.
